Self-Adhesive Membrane

Hydroprufe 3000 Self-Adhesive Tanking Membrane is used primarily as an external tanking membrane when waterproofing below ground structures. In these instances, it should be used in conjunction with PermaSEAL 8 Geodrain Membrane.

Hydroprufe 3000 can also be used as a tanking membrane or a self-adhesive damp proof membrane in vertical and horizontal applications.

The self-adhesive membrane is manufactured from cross-orientated HDPE making it tough and durable. It has an overall thickness of 1.5 mm. It features a bitumen-polymer adhesive compound. 

Uses of Self-Adhesive tanking membrane

This cold applied adhesive membrane is suitable for the following applications:

• underground structures - internal & external
• reservoirs
• car parks
• roof decks
• subways
• lift shafts
• retaining walls

Installing a Self-Adhesive Membrane

Preparation:

Make sure that the vertical surfaces that you are applying the tanking membrane to have a smooth finish. They must also be free of loose mortar and dust. Brickwork and blockwork should be dry and pointed or rendered. If you are applying to a cured concrete base, then make sure it is thoroughly swept first so that it’s free of rubble and dust.

The surface would need to be sealed with a self-adhesive bitumen primer. You then need to allow the primer to dry thoroughly prior to installation. 

Installation:

The Hydroprufe tanking membrane is quick and easy to install thanks to its cold application. Remove the release paper from the first 500 mm of the roll. Now press firmly into position. Continue to remove the paper. When installing the self-adhesive membrane make sure you apply pressure to the entire surface of the membrane. This ensures good adhesion and avoids air pockets. All laps and joints must be a minimum of 150mm and rolled to ensure a continuous watertight bond.

When installing the self-adhesive membrane externally, you should use protection boards or PermaSEAL 8 Geo Drain Membrane. This will protect the membrane from damage during backfilling. 

Important Note: Hydroprufe 3000 Self-Adhesive Tanking Membrane should not be applied in temperatures below 5 degrees, or in wet or misty conditions. 

Hydroprufe 3000 Self-Adhesive Tanking Membrane conforms to BS 8102:2009 as 'Type A' Waterproofing 'barrier protection'. The product has BBA certification and is CE approved.
