Radon DPC – Gas Resistant Damp Proof Course

Radbar Radon DPC provides outstanding resistance to radon gas and water vapour. It is designed for use in both solid and cavity walls, acting as a highly effective barrier from harmful ground gases. It is robust with high puncture and tear resistance.

Permagard provide this DPC as 100mm x 20 metre rolls with the aim to minimise waste.

Uses of Radon DPC

The Radbar Radon DPC can be used in walls as a horizontal, vertical or stepped gas resistant DPC. 

It is designed for both solid and cavity walls (when used with a cavity tray system) made from: 

• Brick
• Block
• Stone
• Concrete 

Installation of Radon DPC 

The radon DPC is installed in the same as a normal DPC. For external walls, the gas DPC should be placed 150mm above the ground floor. It should be applied to a fresh bed of mortar, without any protrusions. 

Make sure the gas-resistant DPC is linked to the floor DPM membranes or gas membrane. It’s vitally important that you have an air-tight seal between the DPC and the membrane so use Radbar double-sided gas tape. This damp proof course needs to installed in accordance to building regulations: BS 8215:1991, BS 8000, and BS 5628.
