Kair Heat Recovery Unit
Kair Heat Recovery Room Ventilators provide a continuous air change all year round, replacing stale and moisture-laden air with filtered, fresh and warmed air from outside.
These units provide an effective solution to condensation and mould growth problems in any room in which they are fitted. They are ideal for tackling condensation in kitchens, bathrooms, utility rooms, living rooms, lavatories, washrooms, conservatories, offices and bedrooms. They dramatically improve the quality of the indoor air supply, benefitting the health of inhabitants.
How Heat Recovery Units Work
As the stale air is drawn out, it passes over a heat exchanger, which traps (recovers) the heat from the outgoing air in order to warm the incoming fresh air.
When humidity levels increase, the unit automatically switches to a boost mode. You have the ability to set the humidity level isolating transformer at which boost mode is activated to ensure that condensation does not occur. When humidity levels have returned to an acceptable level the heat recovery unit returns to its standard trickle mode. The continuous controlling of Relative Humidity levels ensures that condensation and mould growth does not occur.
Benefits of Kair Heat Recovery Units:
Energy Efficient
Unlike conventional extractor fans which suck out and waste expensively produced heat, Kair Single Room Heat Recovery Ventilators recover up to 86% of exhaust heat, even when operating on boost mode. By replacing conventional extractor fans with heat recovery systems you could save at dramatically reduce energy loss. The Kair unit is also low energy with minimal running costs.
Health Benefits
Kair units reduce humidity to optimum levels, which eradicates condensation and prevents mould growth. They also rapidly remove pollutants such as volatile organic compounds (VOCs), allergens such as dust, oxides of nitrogen, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, tobacco smoke and unpleasant odours. Ventilation is necessary to maintain a healthy and comfortable internal environment for you and your family.
Installation
The Kair™ ‘through-the-wall’ units are easy to install using a 152mm core drilled hole. Installation is undertaken entirely within a building with no requirement for external access, which reduces installation costs on High Rise applications. Read our full Kair Heat Recovery Unit Installation Guide.
Note: Suitable for wall thickness from 229mm to 356mm. A Kair extension kit is available for walls up to 1 metre thickness.
Maintenance
Filters should be removed regularly and replaced or cleaned with a domestic vacuum cleaner or washed if exceptionally dirty.
The motors are guaranteed for 5 years and are fitted with ‘Sealed for Life’ bearings, which do not require maintenance or lubrication.
