Gas Membrane Top Hat - 110mm and 160mm

Radbar Radon Top Hats are designed to provide a highly effective seal around service pipes in a gas membrane system. Where service pipework needs to penetrate a gas barrier membrane, you need to use these pre-formed Radon Top Hats to create a gas-tight seal. We stock both 110mm and 160mm diameters to match your pipework requirements.

The Top Hats have been manufactured from polymers. As part of the Radbar gas system, they protect properties and occupants from harmful ground gases like radon. 

How to install a Radon top hat

Installing radon top hats is a simple process. Start by cutting out a hole in the membrane as close as you can to the pipe. Once the pipe is in position, you should push the Radon Top Hat over the pipe.   

Important note: avoid pipe entry points at membrane joints. 

Sealing

It’s essential that gas-tight seals should be formed around all service entry points. The base of the pre-formed Top Hat unit should be sealed to the Gas Barrier Membrane with RADBAR Double Sided Jointing Tape and RADBAR Single Sided Tape.
