Fast One Coat Epoxy DPM

PermaSEAL PRO One Coat DPM is a high quality two-component rapid-curing epoxy damp proof membrane for floor slabs.

When it comes to floor preparation, PermaSEAL One Coat is the most efficient option for controlling residual or constructional moisture and groundwater vapour. It is suitable for use on moist cementitious substrates with hygrometer readings up to 98% RH, without loss of bond strength. If hygrometer readings exceed 98%, two coats are required.

PermaSEAL PRO Epoxy DPM creates a membrane in just one coat on a wide range of substrates including concrete and sand/cement screeds. Solvent-free and easy to install, it allows you to create a DPM in a single application that is ready to tile or receive smoothing compounds in as little as four to six hours. This speeds up projects without compromising on protection.

If further coatings need to be applied over the Epoxy DPM that require a key to bond to for example, self levellers or tiles, we suggest the application of a second coat of Epoxy DPM One Coat at a rate of 0.25kg/m². Blind the Epoxy DPM 30 minutes after it has been laid with a quartz aggregate. Leave this to dry for 4-6 hours, sweep excess sand away then you are ready to apply tiles or a self leveller.

Uses of One Coat DPM

PermaSEAL PRO One Coat is designed to quickly create a DPM on a wide range of flooring substrates. It is designed for when a structural DPM doesn’t exist or is ineffective. It is suitable for new and existing sound substrates such as:

• Concrete
• Sand and cement screeds
• Polymer modified screeds
• Pre-laid self levellers (must be water resistant)

It can be used in areas such as:

• Residential properties
• Garages
• Plant rooms
• Factories
• Offices

PermaSEAL PRO One Coat DPM can be used with underfloor heating systems in accordance with BS8203 (latest edition).

Installing One Coat DPM

Installation of a new epoxy DPM is easy and efficient with PermaSEAL One Coat. It is vitally important that the manufacturer’s instructions are followed closely and attention is paid to the preparation of the floor substrate.

Preparation

Preparation is key when it comes to One Coat DPM and depends on the substrate. It is often necessary to carry out some mechanical preparation to expose the pores so that the fast-curing epoxy can adhere to the slab.

NOTE: When applying to porous surfaces, it is essential to avoid pin-holing. Cross rolling the epoxy will help remove trapped air that can create pin holes.

Mixing

Mix the two components together with a slow speed electric mixer for approximately 2 minutes until a streak free mix is obtained. The workable time is up to 20 minutes and is temperature dependent.

Application

PermaSEAL One Coat needs to be applied at the correct thickness in order to achieve good coverage.

• up to 97% hygrometer reading - 0.35mm thickness 0.5kg per m²
• over 98% reading - two coats are required

You can apply with a roller or brush. On larger areas the product can also be spread out by a soft foam squeegee before finishing with a roller. Follow the application instructions closely.
