Where to use it?
Our paint is an ideal anti mould paint for walls and ceilings in both residential and social housing. It is also suitable for a wide range of public and commercial buildings. Due to its resistance to condensation, it can be used in the following areas:
- Bathroom ceilings and walls
- Kitchens
- Living rooms
- Bedrooms
Important note: It is not suitable for external use or on wood, metal or plastic. Please also note that this paint may not be suitable for older or listed buildings where lime plasters and breathability are key.
Bathrooms
As areas with high humidity, bathrooms are prone to mould growth. PermaPROTECT is formulated to work effectively even in areas of persistent condensation, making it a highly effective bathroom anti mould paint. You can use it on bathroom ceilings and walls. When regrouting, you could consider adding Anti Mould Paint Additive to the grout.
Bedrooms
The presence of mould in bedrooms feels particularly invasive and is often stressful. Our anti mould paint can be used in bedrooms - just remember to investigate the source of the damp. The bedroom is the most critical room to treat due to the potential health risks associated with breathing in mould spores through the night.
Anti mould paint colours
Our paint is available in either magnolia or white. If you’re trying to achieve any other anti mould paint colour, you can add PermaPROTECT Anti Mould Paint Additive to a standard emulsion of your choice. This allows you to get the decorative finish that you want and the protection you need.

How much do I need?
A litre of anti mould paint has a coverage of 10 - 12 m2. If your surface is rough or porous an extra allowance should be made.
How to apply Anti Mould Paint
Our paint is easy to apply with some basic preparation of the affected surface.
Preparation
Start by removing any loose materials like old paint and peeling wallpaper. If you find any defects on the surface, you’ll need to make good and achieve a smooth finish. Now make sure the surface you want to paint is free from any mould and fungus. You can use a diluted mould wash concentrate to kill the spores on the surface.
Note: in cases of extreme mould staining, you may need to use a primer.
When the surface is fully dry, you can start to prepare and apply the anti mould paint.
You can also read our guide to removing mould from walls for more information.
Mixing
When the bucket has been opened, stir it well by hand to ensure the coating is fully mixed.
Applying the anti mould coating
PermaPROTECT Anti Mould Paint is designed for easy application. You can apply it to your wall or ceiling with a standard paint brush or roller. Two coats of anti mould paint are required and you need to wait 2 to 4 hours between coats.
